Notes

The Fabric of Consciousness, or just Consciousness for short, evolves over the creative moment to include multiple facets

The Fabric of Consciousness represents the sum total of all instantiated Monads that exist as "points of Light" within the unfolding Fabric of Consciousness.

The Fabric of Consciousness represents the manifest universe as an unfolding of Consciousness.

The Cabbalistic Tree of Life is an attempt to visually represent the Unfolding of Consciousness/Unfolding/Emanation of Consciousness

The Cabbalah presents consciousness in three states, Ain, Ain Soph, and Ain Soph Aur

The concept provides for a non-hierarchical and authority free conceptualization of Spirit. The tree like structure and the expansion of monads towards the bottom represents the expansion of number as The Fabric unfolds from Source, and nothing more. Unlike Old Energy spiritualities which posit some kind of "executive force," The Fabric of Consciousness provides for an egalitarian representation of the creative forces of this universe. It is not simply that we are all equal in the eyes of God, it is that we are all the Eyes of God. We are all intensification of God Light within the cosmic tapestry/Fabric of Consciousness.

Experience of The Fabric can sometimes occur during powerful Connection Experiences. "Subjects speak of participating in and merging with pure (i.e., content-free) energy, white light; of witnessing the breakdown of macroscopic objects into vibratory patterns, visual nets, the collapse of external structure into wave. patterns, the awareness that everything is a dance of particles, sensing the smallness and fragility of our system, visions of the void, of world-ending explosions, of the cyclical nature of. creation and dissolution, etc."[1]. Also, "I was entering into another dimension of existence. 'I' was not. Everything was totally dissolved into a flow of matter continuously moving. No time, no space. A feeling of color, but indescribable. Feeling of movement mainly. Awareness that I, the others, are only collections of clusters of molecules, which are all part of the same stream." [2]

pradhAna (प्रधान) primary or unevolved matter.

prakRti (प्रकृति ) original or primary substance / 8 primary essences which evolve the whole visible world

kRti (कृति) creation

"...the root of all nature, objective and subjective, and everything else in the universe, visible and invisible, is, was, and ever will be one absolute essence, from which all starts, and into which everything returns. "[3]

In this paper we ally ourselves with the sharply contrary position that there exists a much deeper and more extensive source of reality, which is largely insulated from direct human experience, representation, or even comprehension. It is a domain that has long been posited and contemplated by metaphysicians and theologians, Jungian and Jamesian psychologists, philosophers of science, and a few contemporary progressive theoretical physicists, all struggling to grasp and to represent its essence and its function. A variety of provincial labels have been applied, such as “Tao,” “Qi,” “prana,” “void,” “Akashic record,” “Unus Mundi,” “unknowable substratum,” “terra incognita,” “archetypal field,” “hidden order,” “aboriginal sensible muchness,” “implicate order,” “zero-point vacuum,” “ontic (or ontological) level,” “undivided timeless primordial reality,”[4] among many others, none of which fully captures the sublimely elusive nature of this domain. In earlier papers we called it the “subliminal seed regime,”32,33 but for our present purposes we shall henceforth refer to it simply as the “Source.” …[5]

Scientific explorations confirm the nature of the Fabric

In a study of 51 individuals,[6] several TM practitioners reported experiences of a boundless, timeless, conscious self.

L1: We ordinarily think my self as this age; this color of hair; these hobbies ... my experience is that my Self is a lot larger than that. It's immeasurably vast... on a physical level. It is not just restricted to this physical environment

L2: It's the ‘‘I am-ness.’’ It's my Being. There's just a channel underneath that's just underlying everything. It's my essence there and it just doesn't stop where I stop... by ‘‘I,’’ I mean this 5 ft. 2 person that moves around here and there

L3: I look out and see this beautiful divine Intelligence.. . you could say in the sky, in the tree, but really being expressed through these things... and these are my Self

L3: I experience myself as being without edges or content... beyond the universe.. . all-pervading, and being absolutely thrilled, absolutely delighted with every motion that my body makes. With everything that my eyes see, my ears hear, my nose smells. There's a delight in the sense that I am able to penetrate that. My consciousness, my intelligence pervades everything I see, feel and think

L5: When I say ’’I’’ that's the Self. There's a quality that is so pervasive about the Self that Im quite sure that the ‘‘I’’ is the same ‘‘I’’ as everyone else's ‘‘I.’’ Not in terms of what follows right after. I am tall, I am short, I am fat, I am this, I am that. But the ‘‘I’’ part. The ‘‘I am’’ part is the same ‘‘I am’’ for you and me.[7]

  4. This hodgepodge of terms is quite confused. It refers to different things. E.g., zero-point vacuum is not the same as unus mundi and "terra incognita" is just a term used by people to refer to "something more" when they don't really understand what it is.
