As Pollack says, “The Hierophant card suggests conformity as a prevailing impulse. To conform, one must repress certain aspects of oneself that are different from others...” [1].

Several other old energy tarot cards provide statements that support the compliance and submission theme. These include the following Hierophant, The Fool, The Hanged Man

In Western esoteric and exoteric doctrine, one is taught to submit to white, male, patriarchal authority.

The admonishment to comply and submit to white male authority is pervasive throughout western exoteric and esoteric doctrine, where God is typically cast as an older white, male, patriarch, where pronouns of reference are always "he","him",. and where admonishes to submit and comply are typically backed up with threat and punishment.

The compliance and submission constellation is implemented in the Masonic Tarot
