"In point of fact, we already have such a model in the Good Psychotherapist. This is about the way [they] function. [Their]] concious effort is not to impose [their] will upon the paitent, but rather to help the patient--inarticulate, unconscious, semi-conscious--to discover what is inside [them]], the patient. This is the opposite of controlling, propagandizing, molding, teaching in the old sense....This attitude implies a preference for spontaneity rather than for control, for trust in the organism rather than mistrust. It assumes that the person wants to be fully human rather than that he wants to be sick, pained, or dead."[1]
