Outer Connection

Outer Connection involves the emergence of authentic, resonant, and compassionate relationships with other people, animals, natural systems, the cosmos, and even material artifacts of human culture. These connections occur through shared presence within the Fabric of Consciousness, and are strengthened by empathy, attunement, and mutual recognition.

In To Have or To Be Erich Fromm distinguishes two aspects of his Being Mode, one is "aliveness and authentic relatedness to the world" and the other refers to "the true nature, the true reality, of a person or a thing." (p. 24). The former is Outer Connection. The latter is Inner Connection
