Detachment is signalled as a necessary pre-requisite to the attainment of blissful Connection in the Vedic Taittiriya Upanishad.[1]

Detachment is, of course, recommended by Gautama as a requirement of spiritual advancement.

Detachment from worldly things, from drama, from toxic individuals, is a recognized requirement of Connection within the Christian mystical traditions.[2] The point of entering into a monastery is to support detachment from the obstacles which hinder spiritual progress.
