Notes
Ideally...
Stage One, known as the Growth Stage occurs from birth to about age forty. It is characterized by a focused biologically rooted orientation towards the satisfaction of Needs. During this period, extra biological energy is available to the physical unit so that it may meet its essential needs and accomplish its Developmental Tasks.
Stage Two, known as the Maintenance Stage, begins when the individual, having met their essential needs and achieved their Developmental Milestones, achieves persistent connection. The maintenance Stage is a highly variable stage of growth that is extremely dependent on the quality of needs satisfaction during Stage One. Needs unmet at the onset of Stage Two will lead to "crises" points, regressions, developmental failures, senescence, and Death.
