Sumak Kawsay
Sumak Kawsay, often translated as "Good Living" or "Harmonious Life," is an Indigenous Andean philosophy that emphasizes balance, reciprocity, and collective well-being in relationship to self, community, and nature. Rooted in Quechua and Aymara traditions, Sumak Kawsay envisions a holistic and sustainable way of living that prioritizes harmony with the natural world, social equity, and spiritual fulfillment over material accumulation and individualism. This concept contrasts with Western Narcissism and Western notions of "progress" and economic development, offering an alternative framework that values communal well-being, ecological responsibility, and the flourishing of all living beings.
