Connection Psychosis (a.k.a. Spiritual Psychosis) is a form of Connection Pathology and a type of Nadir Experience. Spiritual psychosis occurs when a significantly weakened bodily ego makes naive, uncontrolled, unguided, and/or premature contact with The Fabric of Consciousness. Spiritual psychosis is characterized by the dissolution of ego boundaries, the inability to filter stimuli from The Fabric of Consciousness, the adoption of multiple identities, and an immediate break with common sense and grounded reality.

List of Connection Pathologies

Connection Pathology > Communication Error, Connection Psychosis, Constricted Connection, Ego Inflation, Egoic Collapse, Egoic Explosion, Flooding, Gurutitus, Majdhub, Spiritual Emergency

Nadir Experience > Dark Night of the Soul, Death, Flooding, Psychotic Mysticism, Spiritual Emergency

Notes

Spiritual psychosis is a sub time of spiritual emergency. "people with psychosis are a sub-group of those experiencing spiritual emergency, and we argued that people having only spiritual emergency with no psychosis may be benefiting from specific support structures and resilience factors of which further investigation is required"[1]

In some cases Entheogens may be the cause of spiritual psychosis. Entheogens press open the Crown Chakra and when their is psychological dysfunction and damage to the mind of this physical unit, the physical unit may not be able to "handle" even a slight increase in its exposure to The Fabric of Consciousness. In cases where spiritual psychosis is caused by inappropriate or premature use of entheogens, immediate cessation is indicated and Spiritual Counseling is required.

In some cases, spiritual psychosis may be brought about by a surrounding, and often life threatening, crises. In this case the Resident Monadic Consciousness pushes through the psychological barriers (e.g., defenses) of the physical unit in a last ditch attempt to correct self destructive or unacceptable behavior patterns. In these cases, i.e. were near death experience precipitate difficulties or even psychosis, attention to the wider social and behavioral circumstances of the individual is required in order to understand family or behavioral patterns which will require attention.

In still other cases spiritual psychosis emerges as a result of basic spiritual practice. Chakra meditations, visualizations, and other techniques designed to open the individual may, if undertaken by an individual with significant psychological damage, induce spiritual psychosis.

Spiritual psychosis is not the result of contact with The Fabric of Consciousness. Spiritual psychosis arises because a damaged physical unit makes contact with a presence and power (i.e. consciousness) that it is incapable of understanding or coping with and/or that is has been taught to fear and misunderstand.

Spiritual psychosis is characterized by the presence of one or more of the following symptoms to the degree that daily functioning becomes problematic:

Serious confusion
Panic
Paranoia
Inflated sense of self importance
Diminished sense of self
The hearing of "voices"
The collapse of ego boundaries

Typically, when an individual experiencing spiritual psychosis comes before a mainstream, materialist psychiatrist (often as the result of family intervention), drugs designed to slam closed the connection are prescribed. Diddling with the brain chemistry in this fashion is an effective, if crude and poorly understood, method of shutting down the crown chakra and "curing" the psychosis. A more enlightened approach would involve instruction designed to elevate the individual's understanding of key spiritual truths, and counseling designed to identify psychological obstacles, blockages, and trauma.
