The Cup is a metaphorical/artistic representation of the "container" of consciousness. Like the metaphor of The Body, it may represent the Physical Unit, the earth, or even the entire physical universe. The Water Glass Metaphor contains a visualization of filling "the cup" with The Water of consciousness.
