Aspects of Magic

Magic could be subdivided into several categories, depending on the aspect one wishes to describe.

The method of the magician.

The intent of the magician.

The scale of the magic.

The Method

Three methods of magic appear to be existent.

1) Direct Magic

Direct magic is, well, direct, instantaneous, literal. Direct magic is an inherent feature of the fabric of consciousness. The fabric of consciousness is subdivided by UC (undifferentiated consciousness (mist/ain), IC intensificated consciousness (monads/ain soph) and EC(emanating consciousness/ain soph aur). When a monad intends something, the UC obliges. This is exactly what we term as magic. There are several ways to instantiate it, but the most common is via visualization. Generally, there seems to be no constraint on the exact form of the intent expressed. Visualization is one way of setting intent into form. Auditory channel is another. It doesn't matter what you do, as long as your intent stays focused and persistent. For most people it is easier with some form of formating practice like visualisations.

2) Indirect Magic

This interpretation of the word magic assumes that there is nothing in this world and outside of it, which is not, ultimately, magic. All explanations of the world will not come around the deep truth "as above in consciousness, so below in matter". Or to take a different version of this deep truth, "consciousness follows intent". Regardless of our explanations, the very core of the fabric of consciousness is built on this truth. Hence, everything is magic. It is just a matter of how many "corners" need to be taken in order to manifest something. Indirect magic is often associated with Archetypes, but I think it would be more accurate to state that indirect magic is everything which is done with hands and feet, generally with the physical part of the human body. The human body has the ability to be directed directly by the intent of our higher consciousness, via the brain. Neurons are the bridge between the monad and the universe. The brain is functioning as an interface between the monad and this universe. The reason for this seems to be the following: The brain functions via neurons. Neuronal impulses are basically electricity, hence electrons. Electrons are subatomar in scale. To make a long story short, when things go microscopic, the physical rules are slightly different. Potentiality enters the game. The monad is able to gain direct access into this part of the universe (the microscopic one), because the part it accesses is so ephemereal.(electricity) This part may be controled, because it has much less inertia. (less yang more yin, think of the metaphor of the trains).

When the intent is set, and when the body listens (which is not always a given), then that act is an indirect form of magic. The monad needed the body in order to achieve a change in the universe. Therefore, it was an indirect way. Archetypes are a method used in order to facilitate and automate intent. Please see the page on archetypes and the talk page of it. Hereby, a set of archetypes could be called an indirect indirect (yes, i didn't misspell) method towards reality control. If we see the body as a means towards reality control (of course it's more than just that, for instance it allows experience and feelings), then the human creating a change, even without archetypes, is already an indirect control of the monad over the universe. When archetypes are utilized, then the body is being programed, which makes it an indirect indirect control mechanism. Although the control mechanism via archetypes is working around two corners, it is extreemly efficient, because it is persistent. It operates constantly, therefor it is often superior to other control mechanisms. (Persistence trumps.)

3) Science

Science is a method used to manipulate reality. Science is based on a deterministic approach. One might state that science is the absolute opposite of magic. However, due to the above considerations, and further considering the definition of magic, I am inclined to deny that claim. The aim of science is to understand and manipulate reality. The aims of science and magic are thus the same. Both use "rules" which the universe is obliged to. What we classically understand with the word magic focuses on the change of more ephemereal realms, waiting for the subsequent emanation into denser reality to take place. Science on the other hand deals directly with denser reality. Up until now, both always had the same aim, but different realms of activity. This might change shortly though.

Notes: Quantum mechanics is a field of study which might plausibly explain how the IC is able to gain control within the universe.

The Intent

Take up what Michael defined: black magic and white magic.

Additionally, make a sharp destinction between selfishness and evil. Selfish can potentially be good. Defining black magic might work via the connection level of the individual. The colour fits. The caster of the "black magic" spell doesn't see anything as she is casting the spell. While a caster of white magic sees clearly. She is connected to the source, automatically giving her lots of consciousness, understanding and insight. Make a note later on allignment. Black magic, not in allignment, white magic is in allignment.

The Scale

a) self b) surroundings c) society d) world

Notes

Note that the greatness of the scale of the spells are not indicative of the intent of the magician. Even "selfish" spells which aim for self enhancement may be used for the greater good. If a Lightworker spends some time on self empowerment via magic, it still aims for the greater good, although the cast spell is absolutely aimed for achieving personal ("selfish") reasons. Note that intent may be stratified. One single action affects a) oneself, b) surroundings, c) society, d) the world. The intent of an action may be good for oneself, but bad for the surroundings, yet again good for the society and still then bad for the world. Example: A war breaks out. A father decides to go to war in order to "defend" his country. He is promissed high amounts of money and honour (should he be able to return home). Which (from his perspective) is good for him. This action is bad for his family, as he will be missing from home. This action will be good for his country, since it will preserve itself more likely. This action is bad for the world because war inevitably leads to hurt, destruction, agony, and finally disconnection. The ability to chose actions which are good for all four areas of effect is what the LP calls allignment. That action will then reflect the wishes of your higher consciousness. Obviously, the system in which we live should be designed in a way which facilitates actions which are in allignment. Our current system systematically does the opposite: it makes it very difficult to act in an alligned way, even for the most basic decisions we have. If the food you eat, the clothes you wear are being "harvested" in unbearable circumstances, your act of buying the stuff makes you part of it. Your action was not in allignment.

Note: Science has reached the point where these two mechanisms are both visible. (Quantum states = field of potentiality, restricted/shaped by the specific quantum state.. potentiality actualizes itself upon interference of a monadic consciousness (scientists) by deciding upon a choice from the field of potentiality. ) --Aim (talk) 18:30, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
