The Four Barriers are the four barriers to spiritual study and practice. These barriers are financial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual. The four barriers prevent an interested individual from searching out, accessing, studying, and practicing a particular Connection Framework.

Financial Barriers to study are just that, financial. A Connection Framework that charges hundreds or thousands of dollars to access its materials a connection framework that has put up a financial barrier.
Emotional Barriers are barriers, like fear or anger, that make it difficult for a person to study certain materials. For example, a Catholic who fears "demons" may have a hard time studying information on channeling.
Cognitive barriers are barriers, like bias and misconception, that make it difficult for a person to study and understand certain materials. For example, a scientist who asserts Naive Materialism may have a hard time considering the reality of chakras or the existence of [wiki]Spiritual Guides[/wiki]. A Catholic who believes that only the Bible contains truth will have a hard time considering other traditions and systems.
