Talk:Diminishment

From The SpiritWiki

[In Progress]

In our "normal" coexistence, diminishing practices occur on a daily basis. Diminishment may occur on different levels and with different intensity. Diminishment occurs in an array of intensity, starting with the "softest" - nonetheless very efficient - procedure, which is relativation of needs, emotions or perceptions, to the strongest procedure, degradation.

Social Practices/Forms of Diminishment

Diminishment may occur on different parts of the PU with different intensity.

The main parts of the PU affected may be differentiated as follows:

- Diminishment following the (mis)understanding of the physical reality.

- Diminishment following the (mis)understanding of the non-physical reality (the fabric of consciousness).

- Diminishment following the (mis)understanding of the PU, and the true identity of the "I".

- Direct diminishment of the bodily ego.

- Direct diminishment of physical parts of the PU.

- Direct diminishment of the emotional apparatus of the PU.

A tentative list of diminishment methods follows. The intensity may vary. Perhaps it doesn't make sense to compare the "intensity". Every diminishment attacks in its own way, and has lasting effect in a different way. Sometimes, people cope with degradation better than with ignorance of needs or their denial, because they (intuitively) understand that the person degrading them is mentally sick.

- ignorance of needs

- denial of needs

- separation and marginalization

- degradation

Diminishment and related Archetypes

Archetypes used in diminishment: Authority and Power, Gender, Fool in School, Judgement and Punishment, Temple Archetypes.

All archetypal constellations work towards diminishment/degradation of the PU. This is a quintessential feature of the old world system, for said system could not survive otherwise. If a PU comes to aknowledge its divinity and power, it would not accept exploitation and abuse, which would mean the end of the old world system.

The Fool in School

The Fool in School archetype teaches us that we are either karmic rejects, fallen angels, apes, or similar things - depending on the cultural and sociologic context. Considering the truth of our glorious origin, all options are degrading. This archetypal constellation enables deep and traumatic degradation comming from the real-world consequences of the other archetypal constellations. It also has severe consequences for our ability to connect to the fabric of consciousness.

Authority and Power

The Authority and Power archetypal constellation teaches us that life is violent, that it is about survival, that the "strong" win/survive and that hierarchy is natural.

This archetype is especially proficient in diminishment. Since it is the most direct, brutal archetype, which usually is difficult for the PU to accept, it needs support from other archetypal constellations in order to bring its content to full fruition. Hence, the Judgement and Punishment archetypes provide help with the means of justifications, while the Gender archetypes provide further explanations in form of gender separation for the diminishments accrued by the Authority and Power archetypes. The Temple archetypes provide further means to soften the percieved blow of the Authority and Power archetypes by invoking general separation between the individuals of a society. The temple archetypes succeed in doing this by putting a metaphorical mirror in front of every person, disallowing them to see anything else but the "truth" they have become (with the "help" of the other archetypal constellations) . Due to the Judgement and Punishment archetypes, moral judgement is cast on the mirror image, making it impossible to see through to the system, because blame (or recompense) is always placed onto some agent within the system, thereby avoiding a thorough blame of the system itself, regardless of the specific agent.

There is psychological diminishment due to the meaning of the conveyed ideas.

There is x diminishment, by physical beatings, and living in a predatorial world where both, the weak ones and the strong ones are both constantly reminded of their inability or ability to settle things physically.
