Lightworker is the New Age term for an individual who models/teaches/facilitates/supports Connection

In the Christian Bible, Mathew 5: 13-15 suggests somethinng similiar to the lightworker notion: "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Inste,ad they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house."
The apostles, the "ministers" function as Lightworkers -> 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 , to sweep away untruth and establish the truth.
There are currently millions of lightworkers active on planet Earth all operating at different levels of consciousness.
Anybody can be a lightworker. All that is required is that one help others realize and reconnect.
