Integral Medicine is medicine that is participatory, dynamic, open, with an expanded epistemology that is not reductionist[1]. In LP terms, Integral Medicine acknowledges and has an appreciation for the role of Consciousness and Connection in the healing process.

Notes

"The newly emerging integral medicine we envision reveals key features of the noetic epistemology described above. First, it is participatory in nature...with both sides of the doctor/patient relationship actively engaged, and potentially altered by their unique act of participation. It is dynamic, recognizing that what is acceptable now may later be replaced by newer concepts for which the current system serves as a foundation. And it is an "open system" which rigorously and continuously re-examines its founding assumptions, since these will shift as the organs of perception develop within participants. Such a system does not pretend to arrive at any final knowledge. Nonetheless, the new and transitional map it offers may well serve to guide the world of biomedicine as we move toward the twenty-first century." [2]
