Introduced in The Book of Light this metaphor is used to describe the constitution of the the energy of creation as it is balanced and rebalanced between the active and outgoing yang and the in drawing and formative yin. In any given "bucket" of energy (any given quanta) you have a certain balance of positive yang and negative yin and while this balance may change, the total amount of energy in the bucket does not. The metaphor illustrates the importance of considering the balance of energy in any creative efforts that we, as Immortal Spirit, undertake.

A consideration of the balance of energy that Spirit uses to create is essential when examining Spirit's attempts to ascend the physical universe, and when evaluating our creative efforts. Shifting the balance of energy creates different energetic and material conditions for manifestation and these conditions impact, in a profound way, Spirit's creation efforts. As outlined in The Book of Life, most creative tasks benefit from balanced energy however some tasks, like ascension for example, benefit from an out of balance mixture. Energy that is too far out of balance may contribute to the manifestation of pathological or dysfunction creative conditions.
