Life Systems, simply put, are the chemical and biological systems that make life possible on a planet.

The evolution of life systems is the first stage of planetary evolution. Successful evolution of a planet's life systems is follow by evolutionary Stage Two: Expansion and, finally, evolutinoary Stage Three: Integration.
Life Systems no longer evolve randomly. Interventions aimed at speeding the process are these days always conducted.
