Taiji (literally "great pole") is the Taoist term for the basic process of Creation which occurs as Consciousness enters Consciousness and begins the process of forming Physical Creation (Sharp, unpublished). The symbol represents the balanced application (in Consciousness) of Yin and Yang (Force and Formation in Lightning Path terms) used to create Physical Matter.

For a visual representation of Taiji see the universally recognized Taijitu symbol.
