A sādhu (Sanskrit: साधु sādhu, "good man, holy man") is a religious ascetic who has chosen to live life on the edges of society in order that they may dedicate themselves solely to achieving Moksha through meditation and contemplation of Brahman.

Sādhus often wear saffron-coloured clothing to symbolize their renunciation (sanyāsa).
