The Hidden Fist is the state led military/police forces. Used to discipline the labour force and keep the world safe for capitalism. The term is syncretic with the LP term Mechanisms of Force.

The hidden hand of the market will never work without a hidden fist. Markets function and flourish only when property rights are secured and can be enforced, which in turn requires a political framework protected and backed by military power . . . Indeed, McDonalds cannot flourish without McDonnell Douglas, the designer of the US Air Force F–15. And the hidden fist that keeps the world safe for Silicon Valley’s technologies to flourish is called the US Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps.[1]
