One of the goals of healthy human Development is activation or empowerment. However, because of suboptimal political and economic conditions, when individuals attempt to activate, they often experience internal and external resistance to their activation/empowerment. Internal resistance is the internal chatter that keeps us impotent and disempowered by telling us we are stupid, weak, worthless, and incapable.

Internal Resistance arises as the result of damaged self-esteem and the self-doubt. Self-esteem is damaged by a Toxic Socialization socialization process, and self-doubt is accomplished via the ongoing repetition of religious or scientific Less Than Messaages.
