Stimulators are biochemical substances (hormones, neurochemicals, etc.) that are released by the Physical Unit in order to support various forms of action in the world. There are stimulators (or rather stimulator combinations) for sex, for fighting, for labour in the fields, and for all activities that the physical unit may choose (or be forced to) engage in.

Stimulators are adaptive in the sense that they provide biochemical support for the actions of the physical unit. Chronic release of stimulators, especially those associated with negative emotional states is however, pathogenic.
