Growth Force
The Growth Force is the intrinsic, biologically rooted drive within an organism to actively engage with its environment in order to develop its capacities, seek mastery, and move toward a state of greater complexity, competence, and functional autonomy.[1] It is not a mystical "vital spark" but an emergent property of complex living systems, observable as a consistent behavioral tendency to explore, manipulate, test boundaries, and persist in the face of challenge, even when basic survival needs are met.[2] This force directs the sunflower toward the sun, compels the mammalian young to play, and drives the human mind to seek understanding and skill, functioning as the fundamental engine of adaptation and self-actualization.
