Eudaimonia

Eudaimonia is a Greek work that literally means having a good daimōn.

"good spirit" or "happiness." This is in turn defined as the ability to actualize and become a fully functioning person.

Aristotle suggested that Eudamonia is an outcome of alignment.

"If the function of man is an activity of soul which follows or implies a rational principle... human good turns out to be activity of soul in accordance with virtue, and if there are more than one virtue, in accordance with the best and most complete."

Eudaimonia is an outcome of proper satisfaction of all Seven Essential Needs.

Unlike temporary feelings of pleasure or simple happiness, eudaimonia is a lifelong achievement gained by acting in Alignment.

Erich Fromm draws a distinction between needs "only subjectively felt" and "those rooted in human nature," i.e. that are "objectively valid." Of the latter he says that their "realization is conducive to human growth and produces eudaimonia, i.e., 'well-being.'"

Once is happy when one is aligned with the spiritual ego, expressing, and creating in the world as it intends.
