Notes

The Seven Toxic Needs are the foundations of human degradation and devastation. They take the damage far beyond mere frustration of the seven essential needs and move into the territory of serious debilitation and dysfunction (see the 5Ds).

The seven toxic needs are distortions of the seven essential needs brought about by constant indoctrination and behavioural manipulation, neglect, and the damage caused by the chronic violence of our societies.

Like the seven essential needs, the seven toxic needs are broken down into two general categories, basic needs and inner needs. Each of these categories includes several related needs.

The Basic Needs

Physiological Needs

Physiological needs include the need for healthy food, water, vitamins, and air, the need for physical exercise, the need for clothing, the need for sleep, and so on. Physiological needs also include the absence of physical pain. Turned toxic, these needs are expressed and met through violence and domination (e.g., needing cloths, but wasting money on expensive and useless fashion because the fashion makes you feel superior; the need for healthy food, but the wasteful and performative consumption designed to create feelings of superiority).

Emotional Needs

Emotional needs are needs for safety, security, nurturing and aesthetically pleasing environment. EWxpressed and met in a toxic fashion, these become opportunities for dominating and controlling others, like the mean girl that finds inclusion through emotional manipulation and domination, disguised as love and concern, or the corporate CEO who participates in inclusive esoteric networks that provide inclusion through systems of hierarchy and control.

Cognitive Needs

The need to know and understand, expressed through mechanisms of domination and control. The capitalist who hires marketers and does experiments to generate knowledge used to dominate and control.

Psychological Needs

The need for freedom, power, and self esteem, expressed through mechanisms that offer individual freedom at the expense of others that surround. not freedom to grow and love, but freedom to dominate and possess.

Environmental Needs

The need for nice environments, distorted to mean expensive mansion with rooms you'll never use, or yachts that destroy the environment.

Inner Needs

Inner needs include our important and closely associated needs for Alignment and Connection

Alignment

Alignment, but distorted and limited in exploitative and narcistic ways. The aligned desire to create a better world and activities that do so while ignoring damage and destruction. A food company that feeds billions but that does so by exploitation workers and destroying the environment.

Connection

Connection filtered in a way that distorts the Bodily Ego leading to various Ego Pathologies
