Race Ideology is ideology used to justify and excuse the abuse and exploitation of humans based on a superficial reading of skin color.

Race ideology, like all ideologies, has a religious and a scientific expression. Religious expressions are rooted in religious Dogma. Scientific expressions are ostensibly rooted in "empirical" evidence, but its really just dogma painted over with glitter.

Race ideologies rooted in religious dogma justify and excuse the exploitation and abuse of people of color by emphasizing their subordinate, weak, and sub human status. Thus African's can be exploited and enslaved because they are not quite human. When we ask why some skin colors should be treated so poorly, race ideologies rooted in religious dogma refer us more or less directly to "God's will".

Race ideologies rooted in scientific dogma justify and excuse the exploitation and abuse of humans by overemphasizing minor physiological, biological, and genetic differences, or by generating false generalizations and then using these differences and generalizations as justification and excuses. Thus people with dark skin should be kept under control because they are genetically undeveloped, or even less evolved. When we ask why those with darker skin are less evolved, race ideologies rooted in scientific dogma refer us to Darwinian theory and notions of "natural evolution".
