In a spiritual context a Descent into Darkness (or just Descent) may refer to any movement away from Source (i.e. Descent of Consciousness). Descent may be a positive as when Consciousness "descends" into The Vessel, or descends the Tree of Life into manifestation, or it may be a negative as when Consciousness is forced out of the Physical Unit and the Physical Unit experiences Disconnection and Darkness (i.e Descent into Darkness).
