Speaking of traumatic experiences that contribute to disconnection...

The most important obstacle to that kind of openness is a history of traumatic experiences that lead to emotional and physical blockages, a kind of Reichian armoring that separates us from the rest of the world. There are ways of dissolving this armoring, freeing ourselves from these traumatic imprints, and becoming more open to other people, nature, and the cosmos.[1]
