The Sun is an Old Energy Archetype from the Masonic Tarot Deck. In the Book of Slavery and Book of Power, the archetype is used to reinforce the idea that there should be a "balance" between "positive and negative." (see Good versus Evil))

Notes

Book of Power

Not sure about this: "(The Sun; the conquest of initiating light.) When light dawns in the spirit Hiram is found again, deep in a sleep from which the Masters must wake him. They assemble for this purpose in order to pool their intelligence and affection. Hiram is revived because his thought finds a new expression (his lost power of speech returned to him) and because his constructive aspirations animate all hearts."[1]

Book of Slavery

Fool in School: A.E. Waite perhaps says it best. Through alchemical grinding and experiential titration we mature, grow, and evolve until one day, the “self-knowing spirit [dawns] in the consciousness above the natural mind.” On that day, the “ mind...leads forth the animal nature in a state of perfect conformity”.[2] On that day, the pail, blond, blue chosen are born.

"The two children symbolize the two creative fluids, positive and negative, of the new creature."[3]

"If you are going through a difficult time, the Sun brings you the message you have been waiting for: that things will get better, a lot better! Through the challenges along your path, you discovered who you are and why you’re here."[4]

"The hero has successfully withstood the allure of the lunar night and has won through to the sunlit garden beyond. " Fool in School: [5]
