Self esteem is one's sense of adequacy, competency and, worthiness.
An individual's sense of self can be expressed (and measured!!) on a visual continuum by using visual metaphors such as "dirt" to indicate low self esteem, and divine light to indicate appropriately high levels of self esteem.
The ability to feel self esteem is a necessary prerequisite of Connection. In order for connection to occur, the physical unit must be able to express the felt power and glory of consciousness. This power and glory can only be expressed in a physical unit with a "divine" sense of self and a god-like feelings of adequacy, competency, and worthiness.
