Conception occurs when a male sperm fertilizes a female egg. At the point of conception, Consciousness embraces the zygote and Development of the Physical Unit is initiated.
Note that the cellular processes associated with the creation of a Physical Unit cannot occur without the embrace of Consciousness. Therefore consciousness (i.e. a "soul") is present and attached mere nan-seconds after the creative act is consummated.
