	"Prakriti consists of three Gunas— Sattva, Rajas and Tamas that are held in a state of equilibrium. Gunas are the constituent elements or components that are not perceived by us but are only be inferred from the objects of the world, which are their effects. Sattva is that element of Prakriti, which is of the nature of pleasure, and is buoyant or light and bright or illuminating. Thus, the pleasure in its various forms such as satisfaction, joy, happiness, bliss, etc. is produced in our minds through the power of Sattva. Rajas is the principle of activity. It always moves and makes other things move that is it is both mobile and stimulating. Rajas is the cause of all painful experiences and is itself of the nature of pain (Dukhha). Tamas is the principle of passivity and negativity in the things. By obstructing the principle of activity in us, Tamas induces sleep, drowsiness, and laziness.<ref>Bhattacharyya, Ashim Kumar.
