==Notes==

Ideological institutions may be subdivided into esoteric and exoteric institutions, and religious and secular institutions. Exoteric organizations include religious organizations like the exoteric Catholic Church and secular organizations like the Hollywood movie industry, the mainstream news and music industries, and so on. Esoteric ideological institutions include religious organizations like Freemasonry, the Golden Dawn, the Skull and Bones, and so on, as well as secular ideological institutions like the Bilderberg group. Esoteric institutions convey specially flavoured Zoroastrian archetypes to those who are already members of the accumulating classes, to those who show promise, and to those who may be perceived as threats.<ref>Sosteric, Mike. “From Zoroaster to Star Wars, Jesus to Marx: The Art, Science, and Technology of Human Manipulation,” Unpublished. https://www.academia.edu/34504691.</ref>

Although Ruyle is the inspiration for this term, he does not use the term ideological institution, instead tagging the ''church'' as the institution which controls the minds of the exploited population. "There is the church as an "organization which controls access to the sacred and supernatural and is thereby able to control the minds of the exploited population." ,<ref>Ruyle, Eugene E. “Mode of Production and Mode of Exploitation: The Mechanical and the Dialectical.” Dialectical Anthropology 1, no. 1 (1975): 7–23. https://doi.org/10.1007/bf00244565. p. 12.</ref> However, as outlined in the article "From Zoroaster to Star Wars," many other institutions are implicated in controlling the minds of the exploitive masses. <ref>Sosteric, Mike. “From Zoroaster to Star Wars, Jesus to Marx: The Art, Science, and Technology of Human Manipulation,” Unpublished. https://www.academia.edu/34504691</ref>, many other institutions are involved in controlling the minds of the exploited masses.

<blockquote>In capitalist societies, education, whether secular or religious, the teaching of moral reflexes handed down from father to son, the exemplary integrity of workers decorated after fifty years of loyal and faithful service, the fostering of love for harmony and wisdom, those aesthetic forms of respect for the status quo, instill in the exploited a mood of submission and inhibition which considerably eases the task of the agents of law and order. In capitalist countries a multitude of sermonizers, counselors, and "confusion-mongers" intervene between the exploited and the authorities.<ref>Fanon, Frantz. ==Notes==

"Chants, spells, dancing around a fire, burning candles, the smoke and smell of incense, are all means to awaken the 'deep mind'--to arouse high emotions, enforce concentration, and facilitate entry into an altered state. Again, Bonewits has said some of the most sensible words on this subject, observing that 'mandalas,' 'sigils,' 'pentacles,' and 'yantras' are all pictures to stimulate the sense of sight; 'mudras' or 'gestures' stimulate the kinesthetic sense; 'mantras' or 'incantations' [and prayers] stimulate the sense of hearing. The use of props, costumes, and scenery can also be seen as a method of stimulating the senses. In addition, drugs, alcohol, breathing exercises, and sexual techniques can serve to alter one's state of consciousness. According to Bonewits, these techniques function in the same way for a Witch or a ceremonial magician as for a Native American shaman or a Catholic priest. To say that these methods never cause psychic and psychological change ni the people involved is as absurd as other common attitudes--that certain religions have a monopoly on these experiences and that certain religions worship 'God' while others worship 'demons.' These techniques have existed for thousands of years and were developed by human beings for the purpose of widening their perceptions of reality, and changing their relationship to the world."<ref>Adler, Margot. Drawing Down the Moon: Witches, Druids, Goddess-Worshippers, and Other Pagans in America Today. Boston: Beacon Press, p. 158. </ref>

Mystics often use language and metaphor in a special way, in an effort to trigger enlightenment in others.<ref>Organ, Troy. “The Language of Mysticism.” The Monist 47, no. 3 (1963): 417–33.</ref>

Connection Practices combined with [[Connection Appliances]], like the [[TOSAS]], and the careful and guided use of [[Connection Supplements]] can facilitate transformative [[Connection]]

==Notes==

A debacle is an [[End of Stage]] (specifically end of [[Stage Two]]) risk/occurrence. A debacle occurs when a species has developed advanced economic, political, technological, and military systems without healing and a concomitant re[[Connection]]. A debacle occurs because a disconnected species is being "held back" and consequently cannot handle the powers provided by advanced technological and administrative capacity.

A debacle is characterized by ecological, economic, social, political, and military spiral into self-destruction.

Debacles typically do not wipe out a species, but they can cause an inordinate amount of unnecessary suffering, and they can set a species back several decades or more, depending on how catastrophic the debacle is. For this reason, an [[Intervention]] may be staged.
[[LP Connection Framework]] > {{#ask:[[Is an::LP Connection Framework Part]]}}

==Notes==

The concept and importance of accountability is a pervasive concept in spiritual and prophetic commentary. Accountability goes hand in hand with [[Atonement]] and are often understood as functioning together. One becomes accountable for one's toxicity and the damage, one atones (i.e. helps repair) the damage.

The Christian concept of repentance reflects the idea that acknowledgment and atonement is often accompanied by deep shame and guilt when one realizes the toxicity of their actions. The most effective tonic against guilt and shame from past actions is atonement. If you want to feel better about the shitty things you've done, atone to the people and for the lives you have damaged.

[https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians+6%3A+1-6&version=NIV Galatians 6: 1-6] "Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5 for each one should carry their own load. 6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor."

The concept of acknowledgment is a common theme of spiritual and prophetic commentary. For example, in [[Handsome Lake]]'s [[Great Message]], witches are described as toxic people who spread disease and sickness. In section two of his [[Great Message]], Handsome Lake suggests that for witches to be saved they must "confess before all the people" or, if their sins are too horrible, out in the woods in private before the creator.<ref>Parker, Arthur C. The Code of Handsome Lake The Seneca Prophet. New York: The University of the State of New York, 1913. Kindle Editation.</ref> Truth, i.e. not lying to yourself ([[HEALING Framework]]) and others, is important here. "In this manner all must say and say truly, then the prayer will be sufficient."<ref>Parker, Arthur C. The Code of Handsome Lake The Seneca Prophet. New York: The University of the State of New York, 1913. Kindle Editation.</ref>

Can't fool your Highest self " Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked" [Galatians 6: 7]
'''Archetypal Revision''' (a.k.a. [[Archetypal Cleansing]]) refers to the process of changing the archetypal contents of [[Bodily Consciousness]]<ref>Sosteric, Mike & Ratkovic,l Gina. Lightning Path Workbook Three - Connection. Vol. 3. Lightning Path Workbook Series. St. Albert, Alberta: Lightning Path Press, 2017. https://press.lightningpath.org/product/the-lightning-path-book-three-connection/</ref> ''after'' these contents have already been established by [[Agents of Consciousness]] during the toxic [[Socialization]] process of this planet.

==Notes==

Archetypal revision is not difficult to accomplish if the process is conscious and voluntary. However, if the goal is involuntary revision, as for example happens during a military basic training program, or when a native population is '''colonized''' by an occupying force, various levels of violence may be required.

Archetypal revision may be referred to as [[Archetypal Cleansing]] when the process involves the removal of toxic [[Old Energy Archetypes]] and their replacement with emancipating and empowering [[New Energy Archetypes]]

'''Recognize, root out, and replace.''' As noted in LP Book 4, archetypal cleansings involve recognizing the existence of old energy archetypes, rooting them out wherever they exist in your ideas and consciousness, and replacing them with new energy alternatives.

The [[Lightning Path]] [[Triumph of Spirit Archetype System]] ([[TOSAS]]) is a toolbox that you can use to replace oppressive [[Old Energy Archetypes]] with empowering and salutatory [[New Energy Archetypes]]

Archetypal Cleansing is a special type of [[Archetypal Revision]] conducted when the process of revision involves removal of toxic old energy archetypes
Formation, what physicists might call inertia, is the primary shaper of physical creation.
==Notes==

Formation may be contrasted with [[Force]].

Formation is applied to Creation through the application of [[Will]]/[[Intent]] and [[Expectation]].

Force + Formation = Creation

The concept of force in creation is ancient. Notably, the Egyptian God Ptah, patron god of stonemasons(!), is the anthropomorphization of the process if "in-form" ation. "The production of a building or statue involves a process of 'in-formation,' in which a concept originally present only in the artisan's mind in-forms--is imprinted in--raw material through his actions. A block of stone that has been cared into a statue...is materially the same after the process...yet is had also transcended its original raw state: it is now something that it was not before, the representation (tjt 'image') of another reality. What has made the difference between the original and the final state is the action that has in-formed it with the sculptor's concept." (Allen, 1988: 46).

[[Edward Carpenter]] seems vaguely aware of the force+formation=creation equation.Speaking of the idea of Justice, "though it may be but a sentiment at first and on its inner side, yet quickly on its outer side it gives itself structure, and regulates the conflicting desires and emotions and needs of the people; and these emotions and desires so regulated from above do each of them in their turn generate and regulate groups of habits and customs; and these again each in their turn innumerable individual acts. And so the idea of Justice becomes creative and alive throughout the whole State.<ref>
Carpenter, Edward. The Art of Creation: Essays on the Self and Its Powers. Ravenio Books. Kindle Edition.</ref></blockquote>

At one point, Carpenter even refers to the "formative forces...which manifest themselves in the race life."<ref>Carpenter, Edward. The Art of Creation: Essays on the Self and Its Powers. Ravenio Books. Kindle Edition. </ref>

Oswald Wirth associated the Masonic Empress card with form, ideas, and archetypes, i.e. "...ideal forms or pure ideas according to which everything is created." As he notes, "This sovereign, dazzling with light represents 'Creative INtelligence', the mother of form, pictures, and ideas." <ref>Wirth, Oswald. Tarot of the Magicians: The Occult Symbols of the Major Arcana That Inspired Modern Tarot. San Francisco. CA: Weiser Books, 1990. p. 71-2</ref>. Note the inappropriate and sexist association of form/formation with the female gender.
[[Crown Stupifier]] > {{#ask:[[Is a related LP term::Crown Stupifier]]}}

==Notes==

Crown stupifiers include substances like alcohol, pharmaceuticals (psychoactive or otherwise), neurotoxins, and any other chemicals which interfere with the physiological, cellular, neural, or quantum operations of the brain. This includes, it should be noted, the slew of chemicals that you find in processed foods.

Contrast crown stupifiers with [[Connection Supplements]].

Speaking of the need to "put the brakes" on [[Nadir Experience]], particularly one where [[Flooding]] is occurring, Timothy Leary points to "Thorazine, alcohol and narcotics" as substances which "help apply the brakes."<ref>Leary, T. “The Religious Experience: Its Production and Interpretation.” Journal of Psychoactive Drugs 3, no. 1 (1970): 76–86. https://doi.org/10.1080/02791072.1970.10471364.</ref>

Alcohol, narcotics, opiates, psychoactive antidepressents (Prozac), Flouride (a neurotoxin), processed food additives, and perhaps even frequencies of electromagnetic radiation could be investigated as possible crown stupifiers.

It is also important to note that brain operations can be very subtle and even current technologies like the MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) are insufficiently sensitive to document the range of physical and quantum operations carried out in the brain. Therefore, just because an effect is not observed in the short term does not mean an effect (which may be cumulative and damaging over the long term) is not present.

Crown stupefiers are not confined to substances. The school system, which its overemphasis on the development of left brain modules and skills, television, and other forms of media that discourage critical thinking and interfere with the development of balanced brain functions, can also be considered crown stupifiers. In addition, a pathological socialization process, abusive parenting, and negative emotional experiences can contribute to crown stupefaction through the suppression of crown chakra energies.
Harold Johson provides a fascinating and highly recommended look at the destructive power of alcohol<ref>Johnson, Harold R. Firewater: How Alcohol Is Killing My People (and Yours). U of R Press, 2016. https://amzn.to/2D142T4.</ref>

An Affirmation of Self is the equivalent of a disinfectant swap. It's not going to help much with deeper wounds.

===Example===

The LP Affirmation of Self

''I am powerful. I am healthy. I am beautiful. I am strong.''<br>
''I am worthy. I am connected. I am beautiful. I am strong.''

''I am powerful. I am healthy. I am beautiful. I am strong.''<br>

''I am powerful. I am healthy. I am beautiful. I am strong.''<br>
''I am worthy. I am connected. I am beautiful. I am strong.''

Ideally, do this on long nature walks, while meditating quietly with music and candles, or in a hot bath with a relaxing glass of chamomile tea.

===When to Use===

# prophylactically, on nature walks, before meditation, or whenever you are in a somewhat connected state.
# when you are injured (i.e., when somebody engages in a psychological, emotional, or spiritual assault).
# when you are “triggered” or when you mind is “spiralling” out of control and you are drowning in toxic thought.
<blockquote class="quotation">For the purpose of this study, the ecstatic or transcendental experience is defined as an expansion of consciousness, or the entrance into the new level of consciousness. It is a state in which the individual temporarily looses his identification as an isolated individual power and merges with an external self or power which to all practical intents encompasses what he defines as the totality of the universe. The experience may manifest itself in both psychical and physiological ways. Ofter [sic] a sensation of timelessness, or a loss of body awareness will be involved. At other times, the individual will suddenly feel he understands the meaning of life or why the world is the way it is.<ref>Bourque, Linda Brookover. "Social Correlates of Transcendental Experiences." Sociological Analysis 30 3 (1969): 154.</ref></blockquote>

"in the meditative traditions of Vedanta and Yoga. Ritambharapragya (or 'ritam' for short) is said to be a level of 'truth alone' that one sufficiently established in
experiences of the sort we have been discussing can access to gain knowledge of anything in creation."<ref>Shear, Jonathan. “Mysticism and Scientific Naturalism.” Sophia 43, no. 1 (May 2004): 93. https://doi.org/10.1007/BF02782439.</ref>

Shear considers the existence of Ritam, if it exists, a test of [[Ontological Naturalism]]. "In this case, positive results with the above sort of experiment with an individual who (a) is consistently at least as stable, coherent, and perceptive than the norm, (b) claims to perceive all of nature as a manifestation of underlying pure consciousness, and (c) capable of gaining physically unavailable information about the objective world by interacting internally with the perceived common ground of consciousness (as in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras), would I think, (d) lead many objective thinkers to take this subject's perception that the ground of the universe (as well as the self) is consciousness to be worthy of serious investigation, and even to a degree already corroborated. This, of course, would fly directly in the face of ontological naturalism."<ref>Shear, Jonathan. “Mysticism and Scientific Naturalism.” Sophia 43, no. 1 (May 2004): 93. https://doi.org/10.1007/BF02782439.</ref>

Zen meditational practice specifically contributes to connection by releasing "stress and tension," helping individuals "more in control," helping individuals '''open up,''' helping them attain better control of their thought processes (an essential requirement for controlled [[Connection]]), helping them achieve a less judgmental stance towards self and others <ref>Shapiro Jr., Dean. “Behavioral and Attitudinal Changes Resulting from a ‘Zen Experience’ Workshop and Zen Meditation.” Journal of Humanistic Psychology 18, no. 3 (1978): 21.</ref>.

"Whatever teachings there are in Zen, they come out of one's own mind. We teach ourselves; Zen merely points the way."<ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 7. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"Zen is the spirit of man [sic]. Zen believes in its inner purity and goodness. Whatever is superadded or violently torn away, injures the wholesomeness of the spirit. <ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 9. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"Zen wants to have one's mind free and unobstructed; even the idea of oneness or allness is a stumbling block and a strangling snare which threatens the original freedom of spirit."<ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 11. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"The basic idea of Zen is to come in touch with the inner workings of our being, and to do so in the most direct way possible, without resorting to anything external or superadded. Therefore, anything that has the semblance of an external authority is rejected by Zen. Absolute faith is placed in man's [sic] own inner being. For whatever authority there is in Zen, all comes from within....even the reasoning faculty is not considered final or absolute. On the contrary, it hinders the mind from coming into the directest communication with itself. The intellect accomplishes its mission when it works as an intermediary, and Zen has nothing to do with the intermediary except when it desires to communicate itself to others....Zen professes itself to be the spirit of Buddhism, but in fact it is the spirit of all religions and philosophies. When Zen is thoroughly undestood, absolute peace of mind is attained, and a man [sic] lives as he out to live." <ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 15. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"Zen purposes to discipline the mind itself, to make it its own master, through an insight into its proper nature. This getting into the real nature of one's own mind or soul is the fundamental object of Zen Buddhism.... The discipline of Zen consists in opening the mental eye in order to look into the very reason of existence."<ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 10. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"Satori is the raison d'etre of Zen without which Zen is no Zen. Therefore every contrivance, disciplinary and doctrinal, is directed towards satori. Zen masters could not remain patient for satori to come by itself; that is, to come sporadically or at its own pleasure. IN their earnestness to aid their disciplines in the search of the truth of Zen their manifestly enigmatic presentations were designed to create in their disciplines a state of mind which would more systematically open the way to enlightenment. <ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 50. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"...what makes Zen unique as it is practised in Japan is its systematic training of the mind. Ordinary mysticism has been too erratic a product and apart from one's ordinary life; this has Zen revolutionized. What was up in the heavens, Zen has brought down to earth. With the development of Zen, mysticism has ceased to be mystical; it is no more the spasmodic product of an abnormally endowed mind. for Zen reveals itself in the most uninteresting and uneventful life of a plain man of the street, recognizing the fact of living in the midst of life as it is lived. Zen systematically trains the mind to see this; it opens a man's eye to the greatest mystery as it is daily and hourly performed; it enlarges the heart to embrace eternity of time and infinity of space in its every palipitation; it makes us live in the world as if walking in the garden of Eden; and all this spiritual feats are accomplished without resorting to any doctrine but by simply asserting in the most direct way the truth that lies in our inner being.<ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 16. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"The great truth of Zen is possessed by everybody. Look into your own being and seek it not through others."<ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 51. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"Hush the dualism of subject and object, forget both, transcend the intellect, sever yourself from the understanding, and directly penetrate deep into the identity of the Buddha-mind; outside of this there are no realities...When the mind is distrubed, the understanding is stirred, things are recognizes, notions are entertained, ghostly spirits are conjured, and prejudices grow rampant. Zen will then forever be lost in the maze."<ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 17-18. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>

"There is but one straight passage open and unobstructed through and through. This is so when you surrender all--your body, your life, and all that belongs to your inmost self. This is where you gain peace, ease, non-doing, and inexpressible delight. All the sutras and shastras are no more than communications of this fact; all sages, ancient as well as modern, have exhausted their ingenuity and imagination to no other purpose than to point the way to this.<ref>Suzuki, D.T. An Introduction to Zen Buddhism. Grove Press, 1994. p. 19. https://amzn.to/2Tp6gWG</ref>
The phrase emphasizes "attainment" or the personal struggle towards understanding and enlightenment. The phrase individualizes the problem of connection, diverts attention from the damaging effects of [[Toxic Socialization]] (and the [[healing]] required as a result, and reinforces the [[Fool in School]] narrative. Compare this with an alternative perspective which suggest that in order to enlighten and connect, we must ensure all [[Seven Essential Needs]] are met, and we must heal any damage to the [[Bodily Ego]] caused by [[Toxic Socialization]].

==Notes==

Sin generates disjunctive emotions of guilt and shame which further contribute to [[Disconnection]]. The [[guilt]] and [[shame]] of disjuncture are painful and an organism will do anything necessary to alleviate that pain. This may include employing [[Defense Mechanims]] to repress Self ([[Self Suppression]]) and engaging in [[Self Stupification]] by using substances like Heroin, Cocaine, or alcohol which dull awareness. Note, [[Self Suppression]] may contribute to the development of [[depression]], [[neurosis]], [[psychosis]], and even physical disease.

Sin is a loaded term, but it’s also a common term, and a useful term if you understand a) that sin is a disjunctive act that harms another being and b) that the “sin” isn’t against God, it is against your own Highest Self. When you sin, you are engaged in an act that is so repulsive and disjunctive to your Highest Self, and consequently so disconnecting, that it deserves its own special word.

You can harm another living being and still not be in sin. For example, it is not a sin to defend yourself or your family or feed your spouse and your kids. Neither it is a sin to eat meat when vegetarianism/veganism is not a viable option.
This phrase is used to describe the tortuous correspondences, arbitrary associations, and toxic grammatical complexity used by some writers to obscure truth, divert attention, hide their own ignorance, and bolster their own ego. EPMO is common in esoteric and scientific writing but can be found anywhere ideology, ignorance, and damaged ego abound.
St. Albert, Alberta: Lightning Path Press, 2019. https://press.lightningpath.org/product/rocket-scientists-guide-authentic-spirituality/.</ref>

'''Egotistical, polysyllabic, multi-metaphoric obfuscation''' (EPMO), a.k.a. '''Rocket Speak''' often occurs when a diminished and damaged ego uses unnecessary linguistic or metaphoric puffery to convey to others that it is superior in some way, or to convey the impression that it understands something that it does not. You often find EPMO in literary, academic, and/or intellectual circles. Linguistic or Literary EPMO is more common than metaphoric or visual EPMO, though metaphoric EPMO does exist, especially in artistic and/or esoteric circles.

The only known cure for EPMO is a good [[Fish Slap|slap in the face with a fish]]. Failing that, a sound giggle and some childish finger pointing often does the trick. If you are a victim of EPMO, you can self-treat by a) learning to not take yourself so seriously and b) repeating the following magical invocation, several times, with deep intonation, bended head, and downcast eyes: “Huck mir nisht a chynick, and I don’t mean efsher.”

Is "speaking on tongue" a Christian form of EPMO? In [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians+14&version=NIV 1 Corinthians 14], the early Christian preachers advocate against the use of EPMO.

Aleister Crowley is the king of EPMO.

==Notes==

The EGN is mystified, obscured, and hard to pin down. It "is constituted of no fewer than three macrohistorical models, each with their own implications and internal logic, may have been a weakness theoretically, but could be an advantage in practice. The very ambiguity of the narrative gave it a peculiar flexibility: it allowed authors – provided they possessed sufficient erudition and rhetorical skill – to have recourse to different apologetic strategies at different times or to mix elements taken from all three models, and thereby elude their critics almost forever in a never-ending maze of references to unquestionable authorities."<ref>Hanegraaff, Wouter J. ''Esotericism and the Academy: Rejected Knowledge in Western Culture''. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2012.</ref>

The EGN is a [[Creation Tempolate]] designed to prop up and perpetuate the elite's extant [[Regime of Accumulation]]

The EGN can be traced in part to the the activities of elite high priests in Persian working to prop up the empire of Persian Autocrat Ardashir<ref>Sosteric, Mike. “From Zoroaster to Star Wars, Jesus to Marx: The Art, Science, and Technology of Human Manipulation,” Unpublished. https://www.academia.edu/34504691.</ref>
'''Informational Positioning''' ('''IP''') is the process of placing (or replacing) information the [[PU]] has acquired via experiences into "places" that are not easily accessible to the awareness of the PU. IP is a technique that uses ''informational access restriction'' as its main feature. IP can be regarded as a subclass of [[DMs|DM]] as it is a major technique contributing to the defense and survival of the PU.
</blockquote>

[[Defense Mechanisms]] > {{#ask:[[Is a related term::Defense Mechanisms]]}}

==Notes==

When the PU experiences something, that information is being stored as memory, which can be accessed later on when the PU remembers it. Since the [[CQ]] of the PU is limited, consciousness cannot encompass the entirety of its memory at the same time. It is limited to a specific "area" of the "memory bank" depending on the amount of CQ the PU possesses at that moment. All experiences that are made by the PU are being stored, but not all of them can be accessed easily. Information Positioning entails the distribution of these information to different "areas". Some information are put into positions that can be easily accessed by the awareness of the PU, others are put into positions that are strongly avoided by the awareness of the PU.

An easy way to understand this process is with tags. Imagine all experiences the PU makes are stored on shelves that are placed in rooms. At the door of each room (read [[COEX Systems|COEX]]) is a tag that depicts what kind of experiences are stored on the shelves of that room. Prior to entering the room, the PU reads the sign and depending on what it sees, it is either attracted to entering that room or disgusted with it, and avoids it. The PU uses IP as a technique to minimize [[Disjuncture]], thereby minimizing stress, which in turn contributes to the long term survival of the PU.

Informational Positioning uses the limited awareness (CQ) of the PU to the advantage of the PU by placing unpleasant information into rooms (COEXES) that are out of reach for the awareness of the PU.

== Typical Defense Mechanisms using IP ==

=== Repression ===

A typical implementation is the use of Repression. When we repress, we don't divert interpretation of the experience, as is the case with Awareness Redirection Mechanisms (Denial, Projection, Rationalization, Distortion). We accept it "as it is". More precisely, we accept it as we interpreted it, despite it being unpleasant. If the psychological system of the PU would not handle the experience via IP, then the PU would be constantly aware of those experiences, which would be highly debilitating from several perspectives simultaneously. Thus, when the PU experiences unpleasant things, and Awareness Redirection Mechanisms are unable to beautify those experiences sufficiently, it is left with little other choice but to tuck those experiences away into places that are not easily reachable by the awareness of the PU. Due to IP, the PU is able to function well despite those experiences, rendering it functional despite toxic conditions.

IP is a technique that enables the PU to function despite toxic conditions. The use of IP is by no means salutatory. It is only necessary in toxic conditions. A healthy socialization context would render the use of IP, Awareness Redirection Mechanisms and Awareness Reduction Mechanisms essentially obsolete.

== Other Visualizations of this Process ==

=== [[Water Glass Metaphor]]===

Another useful visualization of IP is the water glass metaphor. Imagine a glass with water in it. The glass represents your PU. It is the container of the "consciousness juice". The water/juice, represents your consciousness. The amount of water in your glass represents your CQ. It can vary depending on a host of factors; for instance holes in your glass. Now when the PU experiences something, it stores the experiences onto the walls of the glass. Wherever the water reaches, it is in touch with the walls of the glass which contain the memories of past experiences.Those experiences are easily remembered by the PU. More precisely, there is no barrier to accessing those information. IP entails the positioning of information to places that are above the "normal" level of the water. Thus, awareness never comes into contact with those information and is relieved of having to deal with them.

Given that the CQ raises out of whatever reason, the water level raises, and the awareness of the PU gets into contact with information that were previously tucked away from its reach. Since those information were deliberately tucked away onto those places by the psychological system of the PU, you can bet they are not very pleasant. The PU will have to deal with it now that the CQ raised in the glass, and it suddenly has access to those information. This explains why Awakening is often a difficult undertaking. Awakening (Activation and especially Ascension) is the process of stably gaining more CQ.

=== Hot Teacup Metaphor ===

The hot teacup metaphor is a more precise, but slightly more difficult to grasp visualization of the process. Keep in mind the concept of fractals while reading this.

Imagine a teacup. The teabag is put into it and hot water poured over it. Let's say we wait for a couple of hours. After this time, the tea has imprinted itself onto the walls of the cup. The walls are becoming brownish (infused by the tea) Say we don't wash the teacup, and pour hot water over the same type of tea again and again. After a bunch of iterations, you will have difficulties washing the cup clean, because so much of the tea has been imprinted onto the cup. In this metaphor, the cup is once again your PU. The teabags are the experiences your PU makes. The hot water that is being put onto the teabag is your Consciousness. The temperature of the water depicts the CQ. Given you make 100 times the same experience, then the flavor of that experience is deeply ingrained onto the inner side of the cup. This is the process of Conditioning.

This metaphor allows for several tweaks of its three variables.

a) the cup (whether it has holes or not)

b) the tea (what kind of experience imprints itself onto the inner side of the cup)

c) the hot water (how much of it is poured onto the tea, and also how hot it is)

The water glass metaphor already (vaguely) deals with a, b and the first part of c.

The interesting bit is the idea of how hot the water is that is poured into the glass. When the water is very very hot, then the tea that is on the inner side of the cup will dissolve into the liquid due to the high temperature. The temperature being your CQ, it is clear that even though the hot water reaches certain spots, it will only dissolve the tea relative to the temperature of the water. So, even though the information is reachable for the PU from a "positional point of view", it cannot be accessed, because the water is not hot enough to dissolve the memories on the specific spot. The information is essentially hidden away by layers of other information. (Similar to the concept of Encapsulation in Object Oriented Programming). Since the CQ of the PU is not high enough, it is not confronted with the information that is encapsulated this way. Perhaps it helps to think of fractals here. Let's say the first and second layers of a fractal are visible, but the layers deeper are not. When the CQ raises, it is suddenly able to see a larger part of the fractal. This is equivalent to raising the temperature of the water, thereby dissolving the tea. The flavor of the tea gets stronger for the awareness, because it dissolved a larger, and more intricate part of the tea from the inner sides of the cup, which were put there by previous experiences.

==Notes==

The Masonic Tarot is not a spiritual tool. It is a propaganda tool. It was created by Freemasons during the French and Industrial Revolutions to help lubricate the transfer of power from Feudal elites to Capitalist elites.<ref>Mike Sosteric."A Sociology of Tarot." Canadian Journal of Sociology 39 3 (2014).</ref>

Elisabeth Haich makes outlandish, undocumented, and now thoroughly debunked claims about the ancient nature of the Tarot. "The initiates of prehistoric times who created the tarot cards were familiar with all these different levels and states of development of the human consciousness. They depicted these levels of consciousness from the first awakening to divine all-consciousness in twenty-two pictures. These are the 'Greater Arcana' of tl1e tarot pack." <ref>Haich, Elisabeth. The Wisdom of Tarot. London: Unwin Paperbacks, 1985. p. 19</ref>

Haich proselatizes the deck and suggests psychologists should avail themselves of its ancient wisdom. "Moses, one of the greatest prophets of all time, received the pictures from the great Egyptian initiates and handed them on as religious treasure to his people, the Jews. If Moses esteemed these cards so highly as to regard them as religious treasure, then the serious psychologist should certainly also be able to discover their profound inner value."<ref>Haich, Elisabeth. The Wisdom of Tarot. London: Unwin Paperbacks, 1985. p. 165.</ref>

Haich says "Yet for the person who understands them, these cards are a wonderful means of acquiring self-knowledge....The nature of these cards is such that they can produce a strong awakening effect on man's unconscious....They are like a spiritual mirror in which we can not only recognise but also thoroughly examine and study ourselves. "<ref>Haich, Elisabeth. The Wisdom of Tarot. London: Unwin Paperbacks, 1985. p. 24-5.</ref>

The world’s foremost tarot scholars to suggest that the Tarot has been the "...most successful propaganda campaign ever launched; not by a very long way the most important, but the most completely successful. An entire false history, and false interpretation, of the Tarot pack was concocted by occultist; and it is all but universally believed. "<ref>Decker, Ronald, Thierry Depaulis, and Michael Dummett. A Wicked Pack of Cards: The Origins of the Occult Tarot. New York: St Martin’s Press, 1996. p. 27.</ref>

The tarot is designed to be constitutive of personal identity suitable to the Capitalist [[Mode of Production]]. It purports to locate the individual in relation to the System and the "Cosmos." "The Tarot is a system of enlightenment, a system whose ultimate aim is "<ref>Haich, Elisabeth. The Wisdom of Tarot. London: Unwin Paperbacks, 1985. p. 157.</ref>assisting the individual in understanding his relationship to the Cosmos." <ref>Wang, Robert. An Introduction to the Golden Dawn Tarot. Main: Sam Weiser, 1978. p. 8. </ref> It provides "seed ideas" <ref>Wang, Robert. An Introduction to the Golden Dawn Tarot. Main: Sam Weiser, 1978. p. 13. </ref> intended to lead to a certain understanding of the human condition.

The Masonic Tarot, in its esoteric form, is elitist. It is a "secret oral tradition." <ref>Wang, Robert. An Introduction to the Golden Dawn Tarot. Main: Sam Weiser, 1978. p. 11. </ref> Knowledge and power given only to the worthy. "It has revealed Itself, in a measure, to the wise." <ref>Case, Paul Foster. An Introduction to the Study of the Tarot. New York: Kindle Edition, 1920.</ref>

The Masonic tarot has two "streams," an elite esoteric stream aimed at elite members of exclusive fraternities (Freemasonry, Rosicrucians, Golden Dawn, etc.) and an exoteric stream aimed at the masses. This dual-stream is an explicit and openly admitted feature of Western esotericism. For example,

"The religion of the masses differed very much from that of the Initiates. They did not share in the Mysteries, nor in the advantages of the Initiates, in the same way as they were never in danger of the penalties to which the trespasser of the Mysteries was exposed. The greatest of the Mysteries was that they should eternally remain mysteries to the masses. he initiated worshipped the one true God under the name of Demiurgos. The masses, on the other hand, worshipped without let or hindrance the secondary kind of gods, whose worship, when amongst themselves, was forbidden to the Initiates. In public even the Initiates adhered to them, in order to deceive the masses, and the better to preserve their secrets amongst themselves." <ref>Pianco, Magister. The Rosicrucian Exposed. Edited by Darcy Kuntz. Austin, TX: The Golden Dawn Research Trust, 2007. p. 23-24.</ref>

Pianco calls this the [[Secret Philosophy]].

The difference between the two streams is one of intent. The esoteric stream is aimed at socializing elites into mechanisms of power and control, while the exoteric stream is aimed at creating compliant bodies. In this regard, the [[TOSAS]] distinguished between the [[Book of Slavery]] (the exoteric version intended to create compliant bodies) and the [[Book of Power]].

The threat of violence is used to prevent initiates from revealing "the secrets." <ref>Wang, Robert. An Introduction to the Golden Dawn Tarot. Main: Sam Weiser, 1978. p. 13. </ref>

The Masonic Tarot, in its exoteric form, exerts control over individual consciousness and inscribes a [[Fool in School]] ethic on the individual. Life is all about karma and lessons and so don't struggle or fight back, passively accept and learn your lessons. If things don't go your way, it is your fault, your karma, your lack of sensitivity, talent, receptiveness, etc. For example, Metzner notes that "If we are receptive with innocent purity, the blessings of the light of the stars pour abundantly into earth-body and emotional waters." <ref>Metzner, Ralph. Maps of Consciousness: I Ching, Tantra, Tarot, Alchemy, Astrology, Actualism. New York: Collier Books, 1971.</ref>

A classic statement of this perspective is "The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards, each with its own imagery, symbolism and story. The 22 Major Arcana cards represent life's karmic and spiritual lessons, and the 56 Minor Arcana cards reflect the trials and tribulations that we experience on a daily basis."<ref>Biddy, Bridget. “Learn the Tarot Basics.” Biddy Tarot (blog), 2020. https://www.biddytarot.com/learn-tarot/.</ref>

Many respectable scholars and well-educated folk, take tarot to be a tool of deep spiritual, archetypal, or psychological wisdom. A "holistic tool that can help us mine our own unconscious..." <ref>Wen, Benebell. Holistic Tarot: An Integrative Approach to Using Tarot for Personal Growth. Berkeley, CA: North Atlantic Books, 2015.</ref>

Psychologist [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Metzner Ralph Metzner] discusses the "Hero's Journey" and suggests that tarot is a reflection of that journey, a reflection of "archetypes of psychic transformation." As he says, "In these myths the inner journey to the discovery and realization of the Higher Self—the trials and obstacles to be overcome as well as the sudden breakthroughs and steps of initiation are disguised as an outer journey, a hero’s quest. And we find that there is always a common pattern to this myth of the hero “with a thousand faces”:2 whether his name is Gilgamesh, Rama, Orpheus, or Siegfried, there exists a communality which stems from the fact that all these heros are engaged in the same eternal quest."<ref>Metzner, Ralph. Maps of Consciousness: I Ching, Tantra, Tarot, Alchemy, Astrology, Actualism. New York: Collier Books, 1971. p. 55.</ref>

The Masonic Tarot is sexist. All authors who comment upon the archetypes reproduce binary and stereotypical notions of gender. "He is the objective aspect of consciousness....she is the subjective aspect..."<ref>Case, Paul Foster. An Introduction to the Study of the Tarot. New York: Kindle Edition, 1920.</ref>

Writers, like Paul Foster Case and Aleister Crowley, etc. use [[EPMO]] to obscure the basic ideology. Long paragraphs of tortuous prose with complicated and largely meaningless associations obscure the basic ideological statements. See for example Case

The Masonic Tarot is based on an ancient [[Old Energy Creation Template]], a [[Zoroastrian Creation Template]].<ref>For details of this template, see Mike Sosteric "From Zoroaster to Star Wars, Jesus to Marx: The Science and Technology of Mass Human Behaviour". 2018. <https://www.academia.edu/34504691>.</ref>

This analysis focuses primarily on the major arcana. The minor arcana are considered less important, even (in personified form) a perversion of occult principle." <ref>Wang, Robert. An Introduction to the Golden Dawn Tarot. Main: Sam Weiser, 1978. p. 21. </ref>

Patriarchal, Judeo Christian roots. "It is forbidden to blaspheme against his creation."<ref>Wirth, Oswald. Tarot of the Magicians: The Occult Symbols of the Major Arcana That Inspired Modern Tarot. San Francisco. CA: Weiser Books, 1990. p. 128.</ref>

Although the tarot deck itself was originally merely a pack of playing cards, it was particularly suited to the creation of an archetypal system because, as can be clearly seen in the symbolic pastiche on the Wheel of Fortune card, the Tarot cards are rich with symbolism. The rich symbolic content makes it easy to project any content one would wish to project onto the cards (Decker et al., 1996, p. 171), a particular useful function for elites attempting to create a new discourse.

===Recovery===

Many tarot aficionados and writers attempt to re-write the esoteric and exoteric tarot, trying to find alternative, sometimes more progressive, "less disturbing" more "life-affirming" messaging. <ref>Virtue, Doreen. The Big Book of Angel Tarot: The Essential Guide. New York: Hay House, 2014.</ref>

Doreen Virtue exposed her process: For example, "...symbolism was very carefully reviewed. When something distressing was removed from an image, we were diligent about replacing it with something peaceful that signified the same thing. Card names were changed when necessary to more accurately convey the loving message embedded in even the most challenging cards."<ref>Virtue, Doreen. The Big Book of Angel Tarot: The Essential Guide. New York: Hay House, 2014.</ref>

Virtue also makes effort to remove "mystery" and "secrets." However, she still duplicates the a-political, blame-the-individual tropes of the masonic tarot. We are still here to learn our lessons, and we should "give thanks" for that.<ref>Virtue, Doreen. The Big Book of Angel Tarot: The Essential Guide. New York: Hay House, 2014.</ref> She just presents the tropes and the masonic perspectives in a more "loving" and inviting manner.

Metzner also discusses the "Tarot for the Aquarian Age" from 1962 was as one such attempt. "This Tarot was obtained, according to the authors, from an unnamed source referred to only as “One,” through the Ouija board, in a series of sessions involving a group of four persons and lasting several months in 1962.... In the Aquarian Tarot each of the twenty-two cards, with a new image and new name, is regarded as a progression from a corresponding card of the old deck. The reason for the progression is said to be first, to rescue the Tarot symbols from their degenerate use as fortune-telling cards, and secondly, because we are entering a new phase, the Aquarian phase, of the cycle of human evolution-in-consciousness and new symbols are called for." "<ref>Metzner, Ralph. Maps of Consciousness: I Ching, Tantra, Tarot, Alchemy, Astrology, Actualism. New York: Collier Books, 1971.</ref> His discussion, like Virtue's, contains no awareness of the political and ideological nature of the original tarot, though both are noteworthy as attempts to recover/imprint authenticity.

Various attempts to recover or insert authenticity are documented in the Recovery section of the individual tarot entries.
'''Stanislav Grof''': "In the ordinary or “normal” state of consciousness, we experience ourselves as Newtonian objects existing within the boundaries of our skin. The American writer and philosopher Alan Watts referred to this experience of one- self as identifying with the 'skin-encapsulated ego'. Our perception of the environment is restricted by the physiological limitations of our sensory organs and by physical characteristics of the environment."<ref>Grof, Stanislav. “Psychology For the Future: Lessons from Modern Consciousness Research.” ''Spirituality Studies'' 2, no. 1 (2016): 3–36. p. 24. <nowiki>https://www.spirituality-studies.org/dp-volume2-issue1-spring2016/#2</nowiki>.</ref>

'''Peter Berger''' distinguishes between "paramount reality," which is the

<blockquote>"One would begin with an understanding of the ordinary everyday "life-world," the taken-for-granted world of commonsense which Schutz aptly called the "paramount reality." This is the reality that we apprehend when we are "wide awake," when we go about our various mundane project (Schutz also called this the .. world of working"), and which we presuppose as the common context of almost a1J social interaction. This is the reality that we massively bare with our fellowmen, and which therefore is the most massively plausible to ourselves: Almost everyone around us, almost all the time, confirms and reconfirms the basic contours of this reality. It is thus a domain of familiarity and of safety-indeed it is the principal domain of reliability in our experience."<ref>Berger, Peter L. “Some Second Thoughts on Substantive versus Functional Definitions of Religion.” ''Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion'' 13, no. 2 (June 1, 1974): 125–33. <nowiki>https://doi.org/10.2307/1384374</nowiki>. p. 129.</ref></blockquote>

William James: "Our normal waking consciousness is but one special type of consciousness, whilst all about it, parted by the filmiest of screens, there lie potential forms of consciousness entirely different. We may go through life without suspecting their existence, but apply the requisite stimulus and at a touch and they are there in all their completeness..."<ref>James, William. The Varieties of Religious Experience: A Study of Human Nature. New York: Penguin, 1982. https://amzn.to/2l4UyR7</ref>

Normal consciousness is not healthy consciousness. Normal consciousness is damaged consciousness. Normal consciousness is [[Disconnection|disconnected]] consciousness. Normal consciousness is limited consciousness. Normal consciousness is reflective of a [[Physical Unit|physical unit]] and [[Bodily Ego]] damaged by [[Toxic Socialization|Toxic Socialization]].

Normal consciousness is a pathology characterized by an overactive/defensive [[Bodily Ego]] and an impaired/corrupted connection to [[Resident Monadic Consciousness]].

There is nothing salutatory about normal consciousness. Normal consciousness, especially at the lower end of normal, is generally insufficient to the achievement of goals and basic maintenance of bodily and mental health.

Normal consciousness is [[The Veil|veiled]] consciousness. Normal consciousness is a [[The Blindfold|blindfolded]] [[The Physical Unit|Physical Unit]]. Normal consciousness is consciousness submerged in [[Maya]].

[[Levels of Consciousness]] above normal are attainable up to the physical limits of the [[Physical Unit|body and mind]].

Transitory moments of strong [[Connection]] (e.g. [[Peak Experience]], [[Pure Conscious Events]], [[Transcendence]], etc) may be experienced as a result of trauma, forms of meditation, the ingestion of [[Connection Supplements]], rituals, etc. A more permanent expansion of Consciousness in the body may only be attained via a process of spiritual and psychological [[healing]] and [[connection]].

Health development and full [[Connection]] of the physical unit is facilitated by a healthy [[Socialization]] process, while [[Dysfunction]] and [[Disconnection]] result from [[Toxic Socialization]]. A physical unit that has been damaged by [[Toxic Socialization]] must [[Heal]] before it can consistently connect.<ref>Sosteric, Mike, and Ratkovic, Gina. Lightning Path Workbook One: Basic Concepts. Vol. 1. Lightning Path Workbook Series. St. Albert, Alberta: Lightning Path Press, 2016.</ref>

A healthy socialization process is one where all [[Seven Essential Needs]] are consistently met. A toxic socialization process is one that, accidentally or deliberately, undermines the functions of the physical unit, and its ability to connect.

===Healthy Development===

In order for a [[Physical Unit]] to grow up healthy and [[Connected]], all [[Seven Essential Needs]] must be sufficiently met. When these needs are met, an individual grows up with an integrated Bodily Ego and Spiritual Ego, capable of connecting to Spiritual Ego or other locations in [http://spiritwiki.lightningpath.org/index.php/The_Fabric The Fabric]. When all needs are met, the individual's sense of self is grounded and centred, their will is strong and sure, they are empowered to meet their own needs, express, and fulfil whatever purpose brought them into incarnation. In short, they enter into [[Growth Mode]].

===Pathology===

When the Seven Essential Needs are not met for whatever reason, individuals experience emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual distortions and enter into [[Defense Mode]] and/or [[Deficit Mode]]. In these pathological modes of operation, the Seven Essential Needs are transformed by defense and deficit into the [[Seven Toxic Needs]].
==Notes==

It is important to note that the old world is not a "natural" world in the sense that it is outcome of natural selection or cosmic prerogative. Rather, the old world (like all worlds) is a designed world. It is the result of a conscious application of creative principles and techniques developed, arrayed, and aligned for specific purposes. In the case of the Old World, that purpose is aggrandizement of a few, and global enslavement for the rest.
