In The Lurian Kabbalah, "The process of tikkun is therefore one of separation: uplifting sparks separates the good from evil, thus causing the abolishment of evil. Sparks are released when a person performs a commandment, says a prayer, eats a kosher meal, observes the Sabbath, or performs an act of charity and justice. On the other hand, every transgression and sin, any ethical misdeed, causes a spark from the person’s divine soul to fall captive to the powers of evil, thus strengthening them. Consciousness '''fills up''' the Physical Unit much like water fills a glass. The ''fill point'' or level of [[Consciousness]] present in the PU at any one time is variable and can be indicated via a simple percentage figure. For example, while sleeping, consciousness is almost wholly absent, present at about the two percent level. While awake and in [[Normal Consciousness]], consciousness fills ''the glass'' to about ten percent. In certain higher states of consciousness, whether chemically or naturally induced, and during certain phases of the evolution of this planet, higher percentages are attained.

It is important to note that the CQ is not genetically determined. Higher states of consciousness, peak experiences, '''evolutionary advances''' or whatever you want to call them are not confined to the ''select'', the ''chosen'', or the ''genetically fit'' mutants. The CQ of the PU is plastic and can be lowered in toxic environments and raised through healthy socialization and various forms of spiritual practice, the exploitation of [[Entheogens]], [[Shamanic practice]], and so on.

The CQ of a [[PU]] may be lowered by a) exposing it to [[Toxic Socialization]], b) subjecting it to emotional, psychological, spiritual, and/or physical trauma, c) filling the PU full of toxins, or d) by interfering with proper fluid and nutrient intake.

Theoretically, under ideal and healthy conditions, the CQ of a PU would rise continuously to a peak level of attainment, typically achieved past the age of forty, and extending until the death of the PU. However, since ideal conditions do not yet exist on this earth, in a typical situation, the CQ of the PU would rise from a low of about one percent at birth to a high of about fourteen percent in the adolescent stage where the CQ would then begin to gradually decline over the lifespan of the PU. The gradual decline, evidenced by the gradual physical and mental decline of the physical unit, is the result of toxic and abusive socialization ([[Toxic Socialization]], [[archetypes]] designed to limit consciousness in the physical unit, and outright lie and deception design to block consciousness and undermine development and maintenance of the physical unit.

CQ is not equivalent to [[Intelligence Quotient|IQ]]. IQ was specifically designed to measure an individual's potential to do well in Western-style education systems. CQ is intended to measure the level of Consciousness in the physical body.

Olcott was a "genteel" reformer imposing patriarchy and liberal capitalist values onto Spiritualism. [[Madam Blavatsky]] was far more elite.

Although Olcott undoubtedly saw the individual as engaged in a lifelong struggle to improve ethically and spiritually, it was Blavatsky who developed the grand metaphysical scheme that depicted each person as comprised of seven interpenetrating bodies, each of which was subdivided into "higher" and "lower" sheaths. These seven bodies were themselves arrayed from the "lowest" physical body to the "highest" spiritual body. The individual's life was depicted, then, as a grand cosmic drama in which one was working to uplift one's essence from body to astral body to soul to spirit-away from the groveling animals and up toward the "masters" who had united their spirits with the imperishable and indescribable Absolute.

While [[New World Spirituality]] can be considered a fully egalitarian, non-hierarchical presentation and practice of the high spiritual truths of creation that confirms, at the deepest level, our shared divinity, nevertheless, because portions of our perfect spirit enter into a [[Physical Unit]] (PU) that requires care, development, and maturation before larger portions of our perfect spirit can enter, the concepts of Stages of Awakening and Levels of Attainment is necessary.

Complicated and esoteric systems of awakening/attainment are not required. A simple four-level representation is suitable. Each level or stage thus represents the "condition" of the physical unit at the time of evaluation. The condition of the PU may be represented by the [[Consciousness Quotient|CQ]] (a dynamic, '''qualitative''' measure intended to give a rough indication of the "level" of consciousness in the body at a particular moment), and an empirically displayed level of mastery over reality. Attainment of each stage points the chela towards an increasingly complete and powerful [[Awakening and Activation]] of the [[Physical Unit]]. The four stages of awakening can be summarized as follows:

*[[Novice]] - One who has begun to question.
*[[Initiate]] - One who has begun to practice.
*[[Adept]] - One who has begun to understand.
*[[Master]] - One who has begun to know, particularly through direct and pure [[Connection Experience]].
*[[Avatar]] - One who has begun to teach.

It should be clearly understood that these stages do not refer to the condition or quality of the [[Resident Monadic Consciousness]] (a mistake often encouraged by those who would keep power for themselves), but to the extent to which the physical, neurological, and conceptual apparatus of the [[Physical Unit]] has matured enough to allow significant inflows of [[Consciousness]]. Thus these are a measure of the extent to which [[The Vessel]] has been prepared and higher consciousness has settled into the [[Physical Unit]].

It should be noted that the mere influx of consciousness is insufficient to assess one's "level." High levels of [[Awakening]] can be associated with confusion, disorientation, and even madness, especially when [[Awakening]] occurs without [[Lightning Path|proper guidance]].

It should be noted that proper maturation of the [[Physical Unit]] depends not only on the individual's
own efforts, but in the efforts of those around him, from parents, through schools, media, government, to society. Proper nutrition, a loving, nurturing, and stimulating environment, are pre-requisites that not only enable healthy and strong maturation of the [[Physical Unit]] but also its full [[Awakening and Empowerment]].

It should be noted that it is the job of all healers to assist with healing the [[Physical Unit]] when, because of toxic local, social, and global conditions, injuries have resulted, scars have been formed, chakra flows have been stunted, and proper maturation has therefore not been completed. Short of the death of an individual physical unit, healing of that unit is always possible.

Finally, we may add a fifth stage of awakening, that of the [[Avatar]], to represent those who attain full mastery, but then go on to further study and training enabling them to teach the spiritual arts and sciences to a veiled and hostile world such as this one.

<strong>Note</strong>, at first glance it might appear that the upper-class curriculum does not contain the same messages of compliance and obedience as the lower class curriculum does, but it does. Movement up the stage is accompanied by gradually increasing [[CQ]]

It should be clearly understood that these stages do not refer to the condition or quality of the [[Resident Monadic Consciousness]] but the extent to which the physical, neurological, and conceptual apparatus of the [[Physical Unit]] has matured/purified/healed enough to allow significant inflows of [[Consciousness]]. Thus these are a measure of the extent to which [[The Vessel]] has been prepared and higher consciousness has settled into the [[Physical Unit]].

It should be noted that the mere influx of consciousness is insufficient to assess one's "level." High levels of [[Awakening]] can be associated with confusion, disorientation, and even madness, especially when [[Awakening]] occurs without [[Lightning Path|proper guidance]].

It should be noted that proper maturation of the [[Physical Unit]] depends not only on the individual's own efforts, but the efforts of those around him, from parents, through schools, media, government, to society. Proper nutrition, a loving, nurturing, and stimulating environment, are pre-requisites that not only enable healthy and strong maturation of the [[Physical Unit]] but also its full [[Awakening]], [[Activation]], and [[Ascension]].

It should be noted that it is the job of all healers to assist with healing the [[Physical Unit]] when, because of toxic local, social, and global conditions, injuries have resulted, scars have been formed, chakra flows have been stunted, and proper maturation has therefore not been completed. Short of the death of an individual physical unit, healing of that unit is always possible.

Finally, we may add a fifth stage of awakening, that of the [[Avatar]], to represent those who attain full mastery, but then go on to further study and training enabling them to teach the spiritual arts and sciences to a veiled and hostile world such as this one.

There are two basic categorizations of attainment in Buddhism "...the ordinary person, called “the uninstructed worldling” (assutavā puthujjana), and the wise follower of the Buddha, called the “instructed noble disciple” (sutavā ariyasāvaka).<ref>Bodhi, Bhikkhu, ed. Revelation can be likened to turning the light on in a formerly darkened room. When you turn on the light you see whatever is in the room.

Paul Tillich makes the important point that revelation is never pure. "Revelation is never revelation in general, however universal its claim may be. It is always revelation for someone and for a goup in a definite environment, under unique circumstances. Therefore, he who recieves revelation witnesses to it in terms of his individuality and in terms of the social and spiritual conditions in which the revelation has been manifested to him."<ref>Tillich, Paul. Revelation is not necessarily a pleasant process, especially if revelations are occurring where conditions of great [[Darkness]] still exist.

Revelation can lead, on the one hand, to an invocation of [[The Beast]] and, on the other hand to [[Depression]], [[Despair]], and even [[Suicide]].

The Beast is invoked by the confluence of [[Guilt]] and [[Shame]] (two very painful emotions), and [[Fear]] of [[Judgment and Punishment]]. The experience of [[Guilt]] and [[Shame]] triggers [[Avoidance Mechanisms]] and the fear of judgment and punishment triggers [[Survival Mechanisms]]. These mechanisms, which may be triggered in the individual, group, society, or even the entire planet, preempt the control of [[Consciousness]] so that the [[Survival Programs]] of the [[Physical Unit]] may initiate attempts to avoid pain and/or survive.

Under normal conditions, acute invocation of avoidance and survival mechanisms should be considered function for the organism. Under toxic conditions avoidance and survival may become problematic. When fear and panic are invoked as the result of anxiety over [[Judgment and Punishment]] we may say that [[The Beast]] has been invoked. Notably The Beast may be invoked in the individual, the group, the society, and even the entire planet.

The only way to tame The Beast is to offer the individual, the group, the society, and even the planet unconditional forgiveness. Failure to forgive leads to increasingly desperate and violent reactions on the part of The Beast. These desperate and violent reactions cause (as the violence and desperation increases) horrific levels of pain and suffering. If The Beast is not tamed then at at a certain point (a point just before the [[Point of No Return]]) the flow of [[Consciousness]] into The Vessel must be reversed. At the point of reversal [[Consciousness]] retreats, the [[Light]] is diminished, and a [[The World]] is returned unto [[Darkness]]. The only way to prevent that return is to [[Forgive]] all [[Sins]], no exceptions.

As noted above, revelation may also lead to [[Depression]], [[Despair]], and even [[Suicide]]. This may occur when increasing awareness of [[Reality]], coupled with a powerful belief in one's [[Creative Impotence]] (a belief caused by [[The System]]), and general lack of a healthy [[Support Network]], leads to [[Depression]], [[Hopelessness]], and even [[Suicide]]. It is important for people contemplating suicide to consider that they are neither impotent and powerless (they are in fact beings of great [[Consciousness]] and great power), nor is presence on this Earth either random or unnoticeable. Like all other [[Incarnated Monads]] on this planet, they have an origin in [[God]], and a mission (a [[Purpose]]) to perform.

The Prophet divided the creatures into a number of categories. Rumi quotes him as follows:

There remains poor man, who is compounded of intellect and sensuality. He is half angel and half beast; half snake and half fish. His fish pulls him toward water, and his snake pulls him toward dry land. He is engaged in strife and war. "He whose intellect dominates his sensuality is higher than the angels, and he whose sensuality dominates his intellect is lower than the beasts."
