The term the One (a.k.a. The One Who Stayed Behind) refers to the single monadic "I" that remains after The Unfolding of creation reaches a dimensional impasse and the decision is made to collapse the Fabric back to the original state of existence when only a single monad (a single "I") existed. The decision to collapse to a single monad allowed consciousness to overcome the Problem of Ennui and create creative interest once again.
