| Steering emotions are primarily useful while the individual remains disconnected from [[Consciousness]]. When an individual is fully (or even partially connected), alignment is determined [[noesis|noetically]], i.e. by a strong internal knowing.

| Steering emotions work by encouraging and/or discouraging a physical unit from certain actions and behaviors. An individual who feels happiness when working a specific job, engaging a specific task, or existing a certain way can feel confident their actions are aligned. An individual feeling guilt and/or shame may feel confident that something they are doing is out of alignment with higher [[Monadic Consciousness]].

| Steering emotions only work if an individual physical unit is "listening" to their body's emotions. If an individual has been trained not to listen (for example by a toxic gender socialization process that discourages boys from having authentic emotions), or if they have been trained to misinterpret said emotions (perhaps because of Hollywood style manipulation and redefinition of emotions), steering does not work.
